The Virtual Brain

While it's a necessity for most neuroscientists to program in Python, C or MatLab, testing their models and crunching their data, it's something entirely different to bring brain simulation to thousands of other scientists. Only when you pair scientists with seasoned, professional software developers, you can build a rich application which installs on a double-click and scales from laptops to clusters.

The team behind The Virtual Brain brings together the leading scientists from computational, cognitive and clinical neuroscience with a top-notch developer team that typically builds large-scale software platforms for Fortune 500 clients.

This unparalleled collaboration across many continents and cultures created a software platform that integrates the latest research, that scales well from run-of-the-mill laptops to high-performance computing clusters and that is easy to install.

We are grateful for the indispensable contributions and support of many more scientists, developers and alumnis in building The Virtual Brain. We're currently compiling a list of everyone who made significant contributions and will extend our official list here.

Since The Virtual Brain is completely open source, you can join our team as a TVB scientist or TVB developer from anywhere in the world!
